Updating/Deploying Windows 11 on Fresh Systems
I'm preparing to assemble a fresh computer next week and wanted to start from scratch, avoiding old software clutter. I'm considering using Windows from my previous machine or if I must purchase a new license. Would it be simpler to buy a new license so both systems can run for several months? The old computer also has Windows 10 installed.
I wanted to check if I could run Windows on my old computer or if I'd have to buy a new license regardless. Did you get an OEM key for your previous build? If yes, it's linked to the motherboard's BIOS chip, so you'll need a fresh license key for the new hardware. If you don't modify the system and prefer not to change how the operating system looks, then activating the OS might not be necessary.
The original license originated from an earlier version, though it's not directly applicable to the current setup.
It's simple to decide now. I was considering purchasing something else anyway. I didn't realize they were connected to the computer. Thanks!
