Updating your motherboard setup
Updating your motherboard setup
I’m going to switch my motherboard from the Asus Prime B450M-A II to the Gigabyte B550M DS3H. The RAM, graphics card, power supply, and cooler should all stay the same. Just need to change the motherboard? Should I reinstall Windows or just connect my M.2 drive and try it? I want to avoid any issues but also skip reinstalling everything. Thanks for any advice!
You can reinstall Windows if needed, but it should function either way.
I understand you're checking compatibility. The GIGABYTE B550M DS3H supports up to 5800X3D, so it should work fine if you upgrade your CPU. No extra cost needed for the motherboard unless you plan to change it.
Thanks, I’ll just back up in case. Also, the improved CPU means I’m essentially returning this motherboard for GIGABYTE B550M DS3H, so I won’t have to pay for the upgrade.
Uncertain, it varies based on your current setup. Consider the price of an ASRock B550M Steel Legend for instance: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nFhmP6/...eel-legend
I have a 5600 with an 3080i resolution and I stream at 1440p.
It seems unlikely at first. Perhaps later you might find a better price on the 5800X3D. How much more does this board cost compared to others? Check this link for details: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nFhmP6/...eel-legend
I don't have access to ascrock in my country, but with shipping it's about 158.89$. Gigabyte costs 100$, 5800XD is 369.51$, and 5600 is 147.80$. Turkey prices
