You're looking at the pros and cons of updating your BIOS/UEFI after power loss. It's good you're considering the impact beyond just older CPU support. Updating can sometimes reset settings like RGB profiles and fan curves, similar to clearing CMOS. You won't necessarily need to rebuild everything from scratch, but it might require some reconfiguration. Make sure your setup is compatible with the latest updates before proceeding.

Whenever I refresh my bios, I need to turn on my OCS again and adjust my fan settings. Not sure if this is the standard process for everyone.

Certain BIOS versions might contain coding mistakes that could impact performance in unusual situations. However, sticking to officially released updates and avoiding beta versions should eliminate these issues. The positive aspects generally outweigh the drawbacks, such as better CPU compatibility, enhanced OS features, and improved stability between RAM and CPU—especially with Zen technology.

All your points make sense now. Regarding the RGB issue, it seems you’d need to revisit the BIOS settings again, even though you’re using software. It’s mainly a hassle because RGB Fusion2.0 interfered with my GPU drivers, causing communication problems with TRIXX software even after uninstalling it. This has been a recurring problem for years, especially with Gigabyte and Sapphire RGB cards. Eventually, using a mix of ASUS and Gigabyte software helped resolve the compatibility issues. I had to return the card due to a faulty DP, which allowed the RGB to function properly afterward. I only chose RGB because I wanted to experiment later, but I regret the frustration of dealing with incompatible components before finding a solution.
