Hello!
I'm looking into an upgrade for my ASUS Z690-A motherboard's BIOS and want to be careful. There are concerns that jumping from a major version to another might damage my PC. For instance, if I upgrade from ver 0403 to 3101, could that cause problems? Should I go slowly and test each step before proceeding? I just need some guidance before starting.

Ensure you understand the details for BIOS updates on your motherboard. Certain updates may apply simultaneously to the latest versions, while others might need specific stages to be completed.

Sure, I can clarify that. You're asking if you can find this information on your motherboards website and what labels it might appear under.

You might damage your PC no matter how many BIOS versions are present—whether it's 1 or 13. It's up to you to consider the benefits of updates compared to staying the same... That is, to decide how much you're guessing whether a newer BIOS will help your case?

I believe I located it—the issue was difficulty in finding the information since recent updates aren't always clear about the additional actions required.
I plan to upgrade to a version that demands extra steps before updating, hoping this will resolve the problem.

Make sure the BIOS update you're checking covers the exact problem you're experiencing.

I'm working on resolving an issue with a driver problem, where my M.2 SSD has switched to RAID Controller mode and the BIOS doesn't offer options for RAID or SATA configuration. Now I have two fresh SSDs that can't boot from UEFI.

I'm not certain, but I believe the BIOS update that could resolve my issue is version 2602 rather than the newest one. I'll need to review them.
