I understand, the instructions seem confusing. The guide on TenForums is much clearer, and using Sledgehammer Safe-2 works well. I just need to run the script, right? Also, this is the portable version, which might be less convenient now.

This updated format doesn't require removing the application, simply deleting the associated files.

You cannot remove an app that wasn’t ever installed. Simply erase the files, and it disappears.

That's what I was considering, I suppose I'll just give it a shot... Just wanted a quick sanity check, thanks! Right, but as you saw above, the app would disappear, yet the changes it introduced wouldn't, so it seems I might need to run the uninstall script...

Sure thing. So essentially everything was fine for most folks, though I also had to run DISM and sfc scannow. I already knew that because I changed the name from wassmedic to notwaasmedic, and it takes about five minutes for Windows to update without that service.
