Updating WIN11 on NVMe drive - System fails to satisfy prerequisites - TPM activated.
Hello everyone, I posted this earlier but it got buried. Recently I made some changes that haven't received any replies—apologies if it looks like spam. In short: I installed the OS on NVMe, but initially had the old SSD connected. The boot manager wasn’t set up for NVMe at first. Both operating systems functioned (I see OS selection screen), as long as the old SATA drive was connected. When I removed it, no bootable drive appeared and I got stuck in BIOS. Plugging in a Win11 USB either launched the installation screen or showed an error saying "This PC doesn't meet requirements" even though I’d installed Win11 twice from there. If I change the CSM/UEFI settings, I see a 0x0000f error about Boot Configuration Data. I’ve tried disabling and enabling Secure Boot, but nothing works further. After replacing the old SATA drive, I can boot from both but still can’t add the boot manager to NVMe. (I’m back to square one). I ran several bootrec commands—either they don’t detect the drive or show up as non-existent—and the recovery option always triggers an error. I’ve also looked into commands for allocating space for EFI migration, but those instructions were for Windows 10, not sure if they’ll work with Secure Boot or Safeboot. Any thoughts? Could there be an issue with TPM or Secure Boot? Should I reset it somehow? Just a note: MOBO – Asus Crosshair VII Hero NVMe SSD (Samsung 980 PRO)
I'm not very familiar with this, maybe I should ask for help. Also, removing boot files or partitions from the secondary drive seems unnecessary if it's going to be unplugged.
