Hello, initially I used Windows 7 and later switched to Windows 10 with the same key. If you need to reinstall the OS, I wonder if that key can still be used for a fresh installation? Thanks!

It functions properly, though it will restart on its own without further input.

I have used windows 7 keys to activate windows 10 installations twice, and so have many other people on this forum I know. The "one year free upgrade period" never ended, windows 7 keys still work to activate windows 10. Now it's just the eula that says you can't do it, but there's nothing that prevents it. If it didn't work for you then you probably put in a letter or number wrong, or weren't connected to the internet.
