Hey there, I'm a bit confused about where to put this in. If you think you posted somewhere wrong, please let me know. I'm switching my motherboard from a mini ITX to a full-size one, including changing the case. I have Windows 10 Pro installed (upgraded from Windows 7), and I don't have an installation disc. How should I proceed? My old motherboard was MSI Z97i AC, now I'm getting a new MSI Z97s KRAIT SLI i7-4790K. Thanks a lot! P.S. I'm okay with reformatting my drives, but I'm really unsure how to keep my Windows license and installation intact since I don't have a disc or copy of Windows 10—just the C drive.
Did you purchase this item yourself or did it come pre-installed on a ready-made system?
because it isn't an OEM key, you should be able to contact MS to have it reactivated for your new board after installation
I'll keep the thread updated once I'm finished. Appreciate your feedback!
