Hi, I own an HP 2B4B Motherboard. As you know, HP tends to hide overclocking settings. I have an i7-6700K and need to overclock using XTU or similar, which is causing some issues. I can adjust the GHz in the BIOS but not the voltage. I’m sure changing just the ASUS chip won’t work. If I get a new motherboard, should it be an ASUS one because they offer many options that might make my BIOS change to ASUS BIOS? Also, is getting the i7-8700K worth it since I already have the i7-6700K? Thanks.

Could you verify if the Asus PRIME Z370-P motherboard works with the 8700k? Also, do your four Samsung 8GB RAM sticks fit? Thanks.

This BIOS features an entirely different system built on a new motherboard.

And do I need to check anything on my PC before getting the motherboard?
Can I get any motherboard?
Which one should I choose if I want the best OC options?
Thanks!

Even with a higher turbo boost frequency and six cores, the decision to upgrade depends on your needs. It could bring your system into the modern era.

The i7-6700K requires an LGA1151 motherboard, but a 300 series one won't fit. Please verify if your memory is compatible with the new board.

When selecting your new motherboard, also check the dimensions of your existing motherboard. It might not be a standard ATX model.

Through some investigation, I think the older motherboard is a micro-ATX. This narrows down the choices for motherboards.

Another option is to relocate your system to a different case. This would provide a significantly wider range of motherboard choices. A model like the Corsair mid tower case would be compatible with any standard ATX motherboard. It would also support a Z270 board and offer cooling for processor overclocking.

a new case isn't an option right now, but I'll check the motherboards on this link. Just confirm if these are the ones I need. Also, will this work for the 8700k since I might upgrade? Thanks.
