I configured my Macbook M1 Max to install Sequoia and after rebooting it has been stuck at the update progress bar for two hours with no advancement. There’s no clear time indicator, just the Apple logo and a half-filled bar. I’ve looked online and checked YouTube, but since AI-generated searches often give misleading results, I’m unsure what actually helps. It’s crucial that my data remains intact, so I don’t want any solutions that erase everything. I need to restore it to its previous state or complete the update without losing anything. Anyone have any insight into this issue?

I've checked the link you shared. It discusses a solution for fixing a frozen Mac during an update.
