I discussed relocating the Plex server and possibly the NAS to the BULL SHIT room with my mom. She mentioned we could go over the details. I refer to that space because it’s too cramped for a bedroom and isn’t used as a den—most of the extra items end up there. Anyone, I’m thinking about running a network cable from my room to this one. Mainly, she’s worried about overloading the circuit in her room, especially since I’m concerned about heat during summer. Plus, I want to clear out before upgrading my home theater. I have a few questions though. I know I’ll likely be using CAT6, not sure if CAT6A is better. I can only run one Ethernet cable, so it should support both my Plex server and NAS (with Plex content). I also have an HD Home setup for OTA TV. Eventually, I might install an outdoor antenna, which would make things simpler—I could run the coax through the foundation instead of up through the second-floor bedroom wall. Right now, the modem and router are in my room, along with the Plex server, NAS, desktop, and HD Home setup. I’m considering running one Ethernet cable to the BULL SHIT room. I already have a 5-port Gigabit switch that works for that purpose. Then I’d just connect the Plex server and NAS to it. Anyone have any insights on potential issues? To be clear, most of our content goes through Plex mainly for OTA TV, with several shows recorded. We can handle up to three streams at once. Also, any data I send to the NAS. Additional points: 1) I need roughly 50-100 feet of Ethernet cabling, planning to run it to wall jacks. Where can I find quality Ethernet and copper wall jacks? No need for fancy CCA products. 2) Do you have any suggestions for affordable crimpers and a decent punch-down tool? 3) Would you recommend a reasonably priced UPS? Not sure if Line Interactive is the way to go, or if a cheaper option would suffice—just enough to keep the NAS powered down. 4) Any other tips would be appreciated. Main goal is to keep costs low. I can allocate some budget for this project. Location: US Stores: Walmart, Bestbuy, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Amazon, Newegg. Preferred.

Through some research it seems possible. Both of your spaces share a single 15-amp circuit. Your window air conditioners use around 300 watts each, which adds up to a significant load.
