MSI announced plans to back Ryzen 5000 CPUs on x370 chipsets by April's end. It hasn't been updated recently in my area, so someone might have more information.

Placing a Zen 3 processor on an X370 or B350 seems risky. It’s likely to cause problems. Zen 3 consumes significantly more power and generates more heat compared to previous generations.

I've boosted my R7 1700 to around 160W and believe the board can support a 5700X or similar. I don't intend to install a 5950X either.

You're questioning the delay. It seems the BIOS update from MSI hasn't arrived yet, even though it was advertised for months ago. I'm wondering why this is happening now.

I sent an email to MSI and they confirmed the update is scheduled for May, meaning we’ll need to wait, probably.

Not exactly accurate, the Ryzen 7 1800X consumes power comparable to the 5800X, for instance.
