Opera wins the praise, or maybe it's just a matter of keeping tabs in check.

Waterfox (64-bit version) runs well with Maxthon Iron (based on Chromium, no data shared with Google). That’s solid. Opera is an excellent browser and has been in use for many years.

Chrome may run a bit quicker, yet Firefox consumes significantly less memory when open.

Sure thing. Chrome seems to consume much less space, around 1.3GB, whereas Firefox uses about 1.9GB.

It's actually simpler than it seems. After you start a tab, it's hard to stop opening more.

I actually have 16GB of RAM, which means I'm happy to let Chrome use a few GB for it. The more Chrome uses, the quicker my browsing gets. Of course, those with limited system resources would face issues, but without any bottlenecks, Chrome performs best in both functionality and speed.

Back then I opened 30 to 40 tabs occasionally. Now I limit myself to 10 or fewer.
