Prior to the 2070 upgrades (super & i9 9900k), Timespy recorded 10,589 GFX and 10,536 CPU. Afterward, the i9 9900k reached 10,527 GFX and 4080 CPU, while the i9 13900k hit 10,698 GFX and 4080 CPU, and Timespy logged 22,526 CPU and 2,202 GFX.
Consider using GPU-z. In the Sensor section, you'll find a setting named PerfCap Reason. This setting indicates the reason behind the GPU's limited performance. The possible values include Thermallimit, Powerlimit, Clocklimited, Idle, and others I don't recall. Determining this parameter can definitely assist in troubleshooting the problem.
GPU-Z displayed no usage stats. The log indicated 0% utilization despite 3D Mark being active, the iGPU was turned off in BIOS, and only the 4080 display appeared in Windows.
After further checks, I connected the card to a different PCI-E port (Gen 4) and it functioned much better. The car's performance is still lower than before, but it’s not as bad as the previous issues with the i9 13900K and 4080 Timespy. By examining the GPU-Z and MSI logs after the burner, it looks like the card isn’t being recognized properly in the Gen 5 slot. Since I only have a Gen 4 riser, I thought it would work at those speeds, but this might be the reason for the problem.
