Hi, I own a B450 tomahawk max but had bent/broken the pin on the USB header during installation in an older case with a questionable connector. I’m passing this board to my son’s build and considering a new one myself. My current case (Phanteks P600) has a USB C 3.2 front port, but it seems few boards support this now—especially if they’re affordable or close to £200. If I need a replacement without this port, the other two USB 3 A ports on the front could work. I’m thinking of getting another B450 tomahawk for around £110. The Tomahawk X570 is coming next month at about £220, which might be worth it if I want to upgrade to Ryzen 4000s. My latest purchase should be in the third week of June, and my son’s birthday is July 6th. Thanks, Jim.

i don't believe nvidia will release a graphics card without a pcie slot in the near future. regarding bandwidth, we're far from achieving pcie 3.0 x16 speeds, even with the rtx2080ti; noticeable frame rate drops might only appear in pcie x8 mode. pcie 4.0 would significantly boost bandwidth, so you shouldn't worry about running out. to experience bandwidth limitations, set your pcie slot speed to 2.0 in bios and test. if amd maintains their stance, the 4000 series might mark the end of ddr4 production. based on the x470's support for 3000s, i'm optimistic about the x570 lineup.
