Motherboard details: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/...-rev-10#kf CPU model Intel Core I5-9400F
The board confirms compatibility but notes that other components must be connected correctly, the GPU is properly linked, and power is sufficient.
Curiosity about whether a different CPU is required for BIOS updates or if a USB can facilitate the process.

Yes, the packaging typically includes phrases like "9th gen ready" or similar indicators to show the latest version of the product.

It mentions compatibility with the 8th generation, yet the site claims support for the 9th generation Intel processor.

The motherboard requires a BIOS upgrade. The H310 model was available before the 9th generation, so if your purchase came from a retailer with older inventory (pre-9th gen support), it won’t work. You can either install the latest BIOS, send the board back for a compatible unit (such as B365), or consider swapping it out with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an MSI B450 MAX card.

Install a compatible CPU into the socket and refresh it. This requires an 8th generation processor for the BIOS upgrade.

They don’t offer the Ryzen 3600 as an option, but it’s clearly a stronger choice than the I5 9400F.
