Updated setup for NVIDIA GTX 970
Updated setup for NVIDIA GTX 970
Hello everyone, I'm planning to build a new PC gaming rig using the new NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics card. Since I don't have much money left after buying the GTX 980, I need some advice on choosing the right components. This is my first time listing my setup, so what are your thoughts? Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Ranger RAM CPU: Intel quad core i7 4771 (no overclocking needed) GPU: ASUS Strix NVIDIA GTX 970 SSD for system Storage: Crucial MX100 256 GB HDD Power supply: Corsair AX860i 860W Blu-ray drive Budget: around 1700 €
I’d choose the newest I5 and 970 models. At least 8 GB of RAM is essential. The ASUS Z97-A is an affordable motherboard and performs well. You can also cut costs on the power supply, and a Corsair CX 750M would be perfect. A 256 GB SSD plus a 3 TB HDD would be ideal.
Hi there! Welcome to the forum. Have a great time here.
1. Love for overclocking is the essence of it all.
2. You're missing a case—what's your next step?
3. Where are you planning to buy the parts? And what will you be using the PC for?
I'll use this information for gaming purposes (sorry about the oversight). The motherboard model I'm targeting is Z97, and I plan to use a Cooler Master COSMOS SE cooler.
I would have selected the z97 chipset if needed. An Intel i5 quad core fits well on a tight budget. For the display and input devices, I already picked the appropriate models. Monitor: ASUS 24" VE248H. Keyboard/mouse: Roccat Isku / Roccat Kone Pure. I’m looking for a solid setup to activate "watch dogs" in ultra settings mode.
