I checked the instructions at the provided link but found it confusing. Instead of updating just the ProgramFilesDir to the E drive, I modified all directories under C:\Data to point to E:\. This caused issues opening regedit or installing other programs. The system keeps reporting it can't locate 'CWindows\regedit.exe', even when I click the file in Windows Explorer. Task Manager also doesn’t open. My PC starts normally, but help is needed.

Have you attempted this in Safe Mode? You might need to use a DVD or similar method to access system restore if the registry is corrupted.
