Updated power source - increased clock speeds?
I'm just wondering about this - I don't think it's due to more wattage. My old power supply was quite sufficient for my previous setup... but I'm trying to figure out what's happening? For context, the old PC specs were: R5 3600 b350m mortar 3200 corsair Vengeance 16GB gtx 1070 ftw2 Bequiet pure power 10 500w CPU max frequency: 4199mhz. The new one is similar but with a Corsair RM650i and a Vision OC, running at around 4200+ MHz across all cores (max was 4.3GHz on one core). It seems like more or better power is the reason, not just higher wattage. I'm using default settings, no overclocking or PBO, but I've checked with hwmonitor and cpuz, which confirm frequencies are being read correctly. Still curious why it's boosting so much now. It's definitely conceivable that greener energy could have a slight impact, but saying it's not entirely certain doesn't provide a clear comparison.
I'm still figuring out the exact limit. I've noticed one core reaching about 4.3ghz, while others are at 4.25ghz now. That makes me unsure of the maximum yet—it's probably higher than what I'm used to, possibly offering 'cleaner power'.
I wouldn't guarantee it, but it's not out of the question. The CPU workload and temperature in this scenario would likely shift because of the new GPU.
