Updated PC achieves 240 FPS in Valorant 51 on OW2. Assistance needed!
I just upgraded my PC today.
Before: 4070, Ryzen 9 3900x, B550-A ROG STRIX, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz
Now: 4070, Ryzen 7 7800x3D, B650 Aorus Elite AX Ice, Corsair Vengeance 32GB 5600Mhz
The changes I’m experiencing are:
Before upgrading, I achieved 120-140 frames in Destiny 2. Consistent 240 in Overwatch. 220 in Valorant with occasional drops around 180.
Now I’m seeing 20-21 frames in Destiny 2, 51 in Overwatch, and steady 240 in Valorant.
I’ve installed the latest drivers for the CPU. The newest one for NVIDIA caused audio issues and dropped frame rates as well as my performance in Valorant.
I rolled back the drivers after that.
No BIOS flashing or updates were done. Everything was installed properly and no heavy background apps were running.
I’m new to integrated graphics, but it seems integrated and discrete GPUs could work together without conflict. I assumed the system prioritized the integrated Radeon over my discrete GPU, so I tried disabling it via Device Manager but couldn’t.
I set the 4070 as the preferred GPU in the NVIDIA Control Panel, both globally and for specific applications. In BIOS, Initial Display Output is set to PCIe 1 Slot over IGD Video.
I also checked the graphics settings in Windows, Desktop, App, and Browse—Overwatch and Valorant appear but Destiny doesn’t.
When stationary, looking at the same area:
Valorant
4070 at 130 FPS
AMD Radeon ™ at 130 FPS
Setting it to “Let Windows decide” gives a steady 240 FPS
Overwatch
4070 at 85 FPS
AMD Radeon ™ at 77 FPS
“Let Windows decide” gives 51 FPS
All these frame rates were very consistent, with no changes. Probably because I wasn’t moving much.
T&U: Temperatures and usage stayed low.
All games ran at low settings.
Destiny: ~20 FPS (CPU 60%, GPU 96%)
Overwatch: ~51 FPS (CPU 60%, GPU 66%)
Valorant: ~240 FPS (CPU 60%, GPU 90%)
I’m hoping the fix is something simple like a toggle or driver patch, but I’m not sure.
I’ve tried many tests online without success. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I’m really confused.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
Have not flashed/Updated BIOS.
That's what you should do, out of the box, while breadboarded(before assembling).
I'm new to integrated graphics but it’d seem like iGPU and dGPU would work together and coexist not one or the other.
You can disable the iGPU in BIOS, will free up some ram and allocate most of it to the system(overall).
Since most people tend to forget, and out of curiosity, did you reinstall the OS after the platform migration after recreating the bootable USB installer?

I wiped my M.2 and reinstalled a fresh Windows 10 Home with USB. The PSU is about five years old, I was going to say.
After hours of troubleshooting and staying up until 5 AM, I restarted the PC and logged into Destiny. Immediately, the consistent 240 FPS was achieved. God is real.
Update: Valorant seems to be the issue. Initially, booting PC and opening Destiny gave 400 uncapped frames on 600 consistent frames. Playing Valorant needed a system restart. It works fine at 240 frames. Closing Valorant and reopening Destiny or Overwatch restored frame rates to 20 and 40. Anyone know the reason?
Another update: I completely restarted the PC and reset the CMOS. Destiny and Overwatch are now running at full speed 400 and 600 frames. Too nervous to reopen Valorant and give it a try.
After upgrading my PC, I encountered an issue with Valorant. After playing Valorant and switching to another game, I experience a significant drop in performance, around 20-50 FPS across all games. Restarting the PC doesn’t resolve the problem; the only workaround I’ve tried is clearing CMOS and playing a different game. When I reopen Valorant, the issue resets repeatedly. I’m unsure what’s causing this and am seeking a solution. Also, is it problematic to reset CMOS multiple times? I’d rather avoid playing Valorant altogether but am curious about the implications.
