I am preparing to relocate into a new home within weeks and have upgraded my network to 10GbE. My existing switch is an Ubiquiti Switch Pro 24, which lacks PoE and 10G ports beyond two SFP+ connections. I expect the device count to remain around five 10G devices, though it may increase to ten in the future. I was considering selling my current switch and purchasing the Switch Enterprise XG 24 for better long-term compatibility, but both switches don’t offer PoE ports, and my new home will host seven PoE-enabled devices (including Unifi). I’m weighing using PoE injectors versus installing a PoE switch or the Enterprise XG. I also want to leverage my existing NAS’s 10G capability since I already have the necessary wiring. What advice would you give? Your input is highly valued. Also, why do some used Ubiquiti products fetch higher prices on eBay? This seems counterintuitive.
Likely there was a lack of inventory at one point, and the sellers aren't monitoring that the issue is resolved (though it might reappear later this year). I believe FS switches can provide both 10G speeds and PoE 24-Port 10Gb SFP+ L3 Managed Stackable Switch with 25G/40G uplinks, S5860-20SQ - FS.

Currently, Ubiquiti doesn't offer PoE switches supporting 10GbE. This could be intentional: if you need power over Ethernet for devices, those are usually APs. Consumer-grade APs don’t have 10GbE ports. For that capability, consider higher-end models like the UAP-XG-US or UWB-XG-US. These won’t be available in the short term unless WiFi speeds advance. If you stay within Ubiquiti’s lineup, the USW-EnterpriseXG-24 lets you keep 10GbE for critical wired connections, linking it via 10Gb SFP+ to the USW-Enterprise-8-POE. Thank you for the suggestions. I’d like more than five 10G ports on my switch to avoid future replacements. I prefer not to rely on SFP+ to RJ45 adapters since their range is limited to about 100ft or 30m, and some 10GbE connections go beyond that. For the 10GbE switch, I’m considering a MikroTik CRS312-4C+8XG-RM because it offers the right number of ports and fits my budget better. The price is much more sensible compared to the Ubiquiti Switch Enterprise XG 24 ($659 vs $1299). The only drawback is that I’d need multiple interfaces instead of consolidating everything in one. I’m unsure if that extra feature justifies nearly double the cost. For the PoE switch, I think I’ll keep using the injectors or consider swapping my current model for the Ubiquiti Switch Enterprise 24 PoE.
I believe my explanation about the PoE / 10GbE switch wasn't quite clear. For the WiFi access points, I only require either 1GbE or 2.5GbE, and for devices that don’t need PoE, I’d need 10GbE for some of them. It seems I was looking for a switch that doesn’t exist, since most options are either all 10GbE with no PoE or PoE-only with just 1GbE or 2.5GbE ports. I checked the USW-Enterprise-8-PoE and thought it could be the way forward, as I’m currently using Switch Flex mini’s with PoE but could switch them to power adapters instead, freeing up three ports. This would also allow adding four ports later if we include cameras. Thank you!
I purchased a network tester (Klein VDV501-851) that provides fairly precise cable lengths for Ethernet connections. If some runs exceed the 100ft limit for SFP+ to RJ45 adapters, I’ll opt for the Ubiquiti Switch Aggregation which includes eight 10G SFP+ ports. I plan to assign two ports to the new USW-Enterprise-8-POE switch I acquired and two to my existing 24-Pro switch. This leaves four ports available for 10G devices, which should suffice for now. This setup is a significant improvement over buying the single switch for $1299.
