I recently purchased a used RX 560 on eBay for $70 in the used like new category. After installing it, the system displayed error 43 because the card didn’t output properly, even though I used integrated graphics. Through research, I upgraded the BIOS and cleaned the components. It functioned with driver version 17.x but still had issues when trying to install the latest Adrenalin drivers—my games froze or stopped. The screen would black out around 85% and switch to an analog HDMI loop. To get it working again, I had to restart and re-flash the BIOS, then clean everything. This experience suggests a possible compatibility problem with newer drivers. Should I consider returning the item due to its non-new condition, or attempt further fixes? My hardware includes an upgraded Dell Inspiron 3650 running Windows 10, 16GB RAM, 3TB storage, an Intel i5-2400K processor, and a 500W power supply.

Additional details about the RX 560, RED DRAGON RX 560 4GB GDDR5 DL-DVI-D/HDMI/DP AXRX 560 4GBD5-DHA. Also, powering on and off the computer initiated a process to check and repair my drives—was that connected?

Device manager indicates code 43. It looks like the driver should be fine even after the installation was cut off—re-downloading might resolve the problem. I’ll attempt version 20.51 next, as 20.11 appears to cause issues.

Remember to avoid buying a used GPU from eBay. Be cautious—miners often try to salvage their investment by reusing damaged cards. The chip’s firmware might have been replaced, making it unreliable even after restoring the original code. No compatible driver will function with a partially broken or modified card.

I believe the item wasn't in perfect condition, contained defects, and the sellers' wording was deceptive.

Sure, it seems like you're testing something out. It seems to be effective for new drivers too.

I would give it back, as I have limited income and don’t want to spend money on poor equipment. Don’t squander your own funds that way too.
