Today when I powered on my PC, the Windows 8.1 modern interface shifted downward, making it hard to reach all applications. All updates were applied. I also tried restarting it.

Metro swaps the previous window interface for a modern start menu. ClassicShell restores the classic start menu experience. It lets you reach every program you've installed. Although it doesn't improve the Metro design, it gives you full access to your applications.
