Hello everyone, I'm new around here even though I've been using the forum for a long time. I mostly joined to get support from this great community. Right now I'm planning to set up a DIY NAS/Plex server, but first I need to upgrade my LAN to 2.5GbE. I'm searching for a managed switch with 4 or 5 ports offering 2.5GB ports. This is important because I plan to add cameras and smart devices later, so I want to be able to create VLANs. The issue is that product availability in Saudi Arabia isn't great. Also, keep in mind the exchange rate: 1 USD = 3.77 SAR. I don’t want to overspend on my network projects. I found some amazing products on Ali Express, but honestly I’m a bit worried about anything not well-known. Your help would mean a lot. Thanks!

2.5g and managed remain an expensive bundle. A suitable Zyxel option could be found, but they typically cost about 250 USD or more.

Thanks for the details. I’ll check specific models and other brands. Regarding AliExpress, what are your opinions? Would you consider it if you were in my position?

We don't have a physical presence in your area, so we can't confirm local availability of Ubiquiti equipment. You may want to check our website or contact your nearest distributor for more details.

It’s available though it’s actually quite amusing. If you look at the prices on amazon.sa you’ll see a big grin on your face. Some are tripled (even the latest ones). They must think everyone here is a millionaire! I’m just a working expat from a peasant background, trying to make some friends. Edited February 21, 2024 by 3Essam

Amazon's Ubiquiti selections vary across states. I typically purchase directly from their site first.
