I previously shared information about a BIOS update that prevented my motherboard from booting with a first-gen CPU. Someone mentioned the update might have removed support for first-gen Ryzen, but I believe my Ryzen 3 3100 should still work. Articles suggest the AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.3 lacks support for first-gen Ryzen, though a beta fix was released. I found the beta microcode but didn’t install it because I’m cautious about beta releases. The issue seems to be whether the board is truly bricked or just failing after a reboot with the error light on. Thanks for your assistance, MSI A320 VH-PLUS – someone who likely can’t afford a new board.

Not updating to a beta BIOS is always correct. A beta might function, sure, but it could also lead to many gray hairs—so it's wise to steer clear.

Do you recall if the update caused the issue? It worked but restarted with a blank screen and the CPU error light illuminated, which can happen due to CPU incompatibility.

I don't have a Ryzen processor or your motherboard information. Still, if I had to estimate, the update might have been the cause, and your motherboard should function properly once you install the new CPU.
