I was experiencing problems with my CPU (FX 6300) where the GHz fluctuated in the game after overclocking, causing lag spikes. It was normal before. Resetting to default didn't fix it, and even after another overclock, the issue remained. A video mentioned avoiding 1.5 volts and I was at 1.6 volts, so I adjusted the BIOS voltage. When I tried saving and rebooting, it failed. Do you need a new CPU or both the CPU and motherboard? Help is needed!

Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard, keep the power button pressed for 15 seconds, reconnect the PSU and then the battery, and turn on the computer.

remove your cmos battery from the motherboard, hold the power button for 15 seconds, plug back in psu and plug back in battery. turn on computer.
Do you need to remove the battery while the psu is unplugged and still hold the power button with it unplugged?
