Alrighty y'all, I posted here about 3 days ago on some tips for a pc upgrade, and since then have done exactly what was recommended, lol. My setup before was as follows: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Gtx 1660 Ti MB: B450 Steel Legend RAM: Crucial Ballistix 3600 MHz DDR4 16GB (8GBx2) MONITOR: LG Ultragear 24GL600F-B 24 Inch PS: EVGA 600 BR, 80+ Bronze It is now: CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x GPU: RTX 3060 V2 dual OC 12gb MB: no change RAM: 2x 16gb 3600 DDR4 Ripjaw PSU: no change Monitor: no change I installed the motherboard update to allow for the newer CPU in the BIOS, as well as uninstalled my old GPU driver to make way for the newer one. Since upgrading, my PC takes longer to start up, about 6 minutes now, and even longer to restart (been staring at the 'restart' screen going on 20 minutes now and counting...) When powered and running, Task Manager says im using about 51% of my cpu with no applications running. At a loss of what to do right now, anything will help, thanks!

It's located on my M.2 storage device, which I've been using for my PC for about four years now. The majority of my essential applications are installed there, while my games run on a different Samsung 870 Evo drive.

It's probably stored on a traditional hard drive, unlikely for an SSD to cause such slow startup times

For an upgrade, it’s often better to perform a fresh installation of Windows on the boot drive while retaining the existing hard drive. You could relocate vital files to another drive and then carry out a clean Windows setup.

We're using the latest stable release bios, but there are newer versions available in beta. Would you like to switch to one of those?

For the task manager, identify which component is consuming the CPU. Review the details section if needed. It seems the storage drive is likely causing delays. Confirm you're booting from the NVMe device. Are there any additional drives connected?

Just verified everything again now, definitely starting from NVME. Following the suggestions, I’ll update BIO and perform a clean install. I’ll post on the forum soon.
