Likely the same reason. 7, 2 and 3 remake and 8 all rely on the identical engine and likely the same (additional) DRM system as well.

I saw on the "fitgirl" forum that "empress" took out all the attack animations, which explains the stutters gone. Now it looks like "empress" is upset about "FitGirl," so take that with a big grain of salt—but it would be cool if it were true.

Denuvo represents mere deception (Rage 2 clearly shows just how flawed the product becomes within 24 hours after launch). Regarding the topic, the problem likely existed with every major Resident Evil title—only the anti-aliasing and GPU handling are now transparent rather than hidden by darkness. In older entries, delays appear as natural loading effects. I’ve tested many games over the years; most engines are built for entirely different genres, which would be costly to recreate. Custom coding is often necessary each time, relying on libraries instead of polished systems. It’s possible that what seems like lag is just incomplete development, not intentional design.

Having done QA testing frequently, I see how performance problems are sometimes overlooked or quickly fixed because they’re considered minor. This often leads to games that work adequately but lack polish. The EA’s Frostbite engine is a prime example—once flawed, it’s widely used despite needing major overhauls. Many features in titles like Anthem and Mass Effect Andromeda suffer from bugs or incomplete assets, not because developers lacked time, but due to poor management of resources.

Engineers are capable of handling the work; the issue lies with leadership prioritizing speed over quality. As a reminder: I don’t endorse piracy or cheating, but I urge developers to value their customers. If they’re not respectful, customers should be too. Honest feedback is appreciated, not demanded. Praise should come only when earned, not assumed. Understanding the difference between "good enough" and "excellent" is crucial for meaningful engagement.
