It’s not a good impression when Capcom’s DRM negatively affects paying customers. These claims about pirates outperforming retail are often just smoke and mirrors to justify piracy, but here it seems genuine. The Steam launch appears to have issues during testing, though it runs smoothly on the cracked version of Empress. Hope Capcom resolves this soon so those who pay shouldn’t face such a poor experience.

The issues really hurt performance significantly. It's fascinating that they seem tied to DRM, but this doesn't reflect the whole experience. I've tried the game, seen different playthroughs, and even speedruns—only the bugs caused noticeable stutters. The rest of the game ran smoothly.

Refers to issues like spiders or bugs in the game's code. After removing Denuvo (DRM), performance dropped significantly, so I generally view such reports skeptically.

The issues that emerge with the sisters make the game feel like a presentation.

The issue isn't necessarily Denuvo itself, but rather an additional DRM layer from Capcom. Denuvo had its own performance issues with the original release of RiMe.

It’s interesting to note that in MHW they refer to the "CRC check," but it seems those mods had ways around it. Once Denuvo was taken out, the bypasses weren’t updated anymore because Capcom said they removed it or at least one modder stepped up again. I guess there’s a similar situation with RE.

From what I learned, they say it relies on both Denuvo and some custom code. When a specific event occurs, the DRM performs certain checks that might lead to brief lag due to the extra processing. It seems RE:V frequently runs these checks too. Noticing that the RE3 remake took out Denuvo, it’s possible they’ll follow suit for Village once it reaches sufficient earnings.

It seems like a CRC might be involved, but what's interesting is how removing Denuvo actually boosted performance in the RE2 remake. There used to be noticeable stutters behind the gate when using the knife, but they disappeared completely. I haven't played much of the game since then, though I did try it out.
