Also, only ShareX supports this feature, but when you launch it, it doesn’t stack the icons as intended; instead, the original colored icon appears alongside the task bar (http://i.imgur.com/Vpe95CX.png). Icons on the side are known as notification icons. They’re usually customizable, though most can be hidden; you might locate guides online if needed. Regarding your second question, the white icon is intended for ShareX, but it remains visible in color even after selection.
