Hello, I have two gaming PCs and need to sync my game progress. After some research, I found that using Dropbox with symbolic links might work, but I wasn’t able to set it up successfully. Since all my games are on Steam, I’m not concerned about another platform. I have a 4 TB external drive that I can move back and forth, so I was wondering if I could transfer the games there while keeping the progress intact.

Without cloud synchronization, I don’t know of a method. Apologies. It would interest me to learn as well so my laptop and desktop could share progress or time.

Steam and Origin generate clouds automatically. GOG.com may also offer cloud support for certain titles. Otherwise, you must transfer your savegame folder.

Typically games store their saved data in folders like C:\Users\[username]\Documents or C:\Users\[username]\AppData. Often the "Roaming" folder is used, though some prefer C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games depending on the game's release year. Keeping regular backups ensures your progress is safe.
