I agree with that. You can also boost your Ryzen 3600 by overclocking it for extra performance. I'm still using an i7-8086K with Sapphire NTIRO+ 5700XT. A friend has a Ryzen 3600 paired with a Vega56, and another with a Ryzen 3600 and Gigabyte 5700XT. We're all eager for BF 2042... but I'm not sure we'll face much difficulty running it.
fwiw, i dont see issues with my cpu and my 3070. 3080 might be a different story… imo better to wait for ddr5 or even that sweet intel 7nm (lol) before upgrading
Yeah I mean there are still people gaming on i7 3770k cpu's at 4k with like a 3070 and getting 60fps no problem because the cpu is still capable. Yes it's on the edge of being able to do it in every game but that thing is over 9 years old now. So really there is no rush here. Only upgrade when you need to not when you want to is my motto. There has to always be a good reason otherwise it's just buying the new thing to have the new thing. A great trick to realize if you REALLY NEED something is to stop thinking about it for a week or two and if you still remember it by then or feel the need then it might be time to get it if it is still a logical purchase.
You bring up an interesting observation. It seems my concern about being unprepared might be fueling my urge to buy impulsively, but you're correct—I don’t require anything more than what I have. Given my goal of 60fps on my TV, investing in a good headset or mouse would make more sense. There are many other options I could consider!

Your screen resolution is likely 1080p or 1440p. For a 5700XT, 1440p with higher refresh rates could work well, though 144Hz+ might be challenging. You probably don’t need to lower the settings significantly.
