Update Windows from 10 to 11 issues.
Update Windows from 10 to 11 issues.
I'm using Windows 10 on my system and prefer not to upgrade to Windows 11 just yet. I'd rather wait until any remaining issues are fixed before proceeding. I also wanted to disable automatic updates for safety, which is why I saw a warning when I accessed Windows Update—it indicated my PC doesn't meet all the requirements for Windows 11. My wife's machine showed the same issue, even though she uses it professionally and doesn't play games. Neither of us is a gamer, and I spend a lot of time editing photos with Lightroom and Photoshop. It's confusing why something wouldn't pass the system checks. I didn't use the PC Health Check App, so I'm not sure if it would help or trigger an update. Could anyone clarify this? Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your thoughts.
the pc health check app isn't updating properly. try downloading it again, check if the problem persists, and consider installing via the setup assistant. there might be issues with the latest windows update causing this, so it could be resolved then.
Just in case your setup meets the requirements for Windows 11, you might still face challenges when moving from Windows 10 to 11. For instance, my upgrade encountered a problem at around 90% because of a specific driver—initially a Gigabyte monitor USB hub driver. Although it didn’t cause issues in Windows 10, after a fresh installation of Windows 11 the same driver appeared to work without problems. However, tracking down the exact cause and finding a reliable solution proved difficult and time-consuming.
Discussed the matter with my son last night; he shared that a similar problem existed but his BIOS on his laptop required an update. After updating, everything worked smoothly so far. He also referenced articles suggesting newer BIOS versions don’t have this issue. I’ll think about your advice when the time comes, thank you.
I haven't planned to switch to Windows 11 anytime soon, but this caught my interest. Eventually I might explore it. On some Lr & Ps forums and once the issues are fixed, I'll probably have to make the change. Right now, Windows 10 should last another couple of years, which is fine for now. Thanks for your feedback.
I frequently use OneDrive, especially when sharing files with clients. My son faced a comparable problem updating his profile and realized many checks are necessary before upgrading. Appreciate your feedback.
