You're starting fresh with Win 10 and want to preserve your apps, settings, and personal info without reinstalling. It's a solid plan—just make sure you back everything up first. You can use tools like Windows Backup & Restore or third-party solutions to save your data before the clean install.

You simply need to download the Windows upgrade tool and install it, selecting "Keep personal data/settings." If you prefer a clean installation while preserving your files and programs, you can opt for the "Install Windows without keeping your data" option but back up your data to another drive or external storage. These are your only choices—one maintains your Users folder, the other wipes everything.

I suggest performing a fresh installation and saving important items like documents, photos, or music to an external drive. Once that's done, configure your preferences—ideally clearing everything and starting anew for optimal performance.

Sure, I understand. Even with backup, files can't be saved.

I actually have over 50 programs I rely on, and it’s not just the ones I use—there are also the games, settings, and more. Setting everything up would take a long time.

It seems you're weighing the pros and cons of building everything from scratch versus using an existing, more reliable setup. The decision really depends on your specific circumstances—like available bandwidth, how much extra time you have, and how much effort you're ready to put in.
