Hi! I haven't been following the 24H2 update closely, just read a few posts warning against upgrading due to problems, but it seems things have moved on. I don't seem to have found any new updates. Did anyone else had issues or no trouble at all? Thanks!

24H2 has mixed results, with some systems working well while others struggle after an update. It appears to encounter issues depending on hardware setups such as motherboard combinations, CPU, RAM types, graphics cards, and drivers. Problems like BSODs, freezing, slow performance, or stuttering graphics are common. Some gamers face significant difficulties. This operating system is decent overall, but the final outcome depends on your specific configuration—so testing the update is essential.

When issues arise, the situation is no better or worse than any other update; the best options are those just before the newest release, as most problems are resolved by that time. I believe the 24H2 version with the latest updates is quite strong now and includes innovations for the current requirements, making it essential for me. If you're still on 22H2, upgrading is definitely recommended.
If you're not ready to upgrade, you have ten days to decide whether to keep or downgrade.

No worries and thanks! I heard it was a bit mixed. I'm at 23H2! And yes, I might update later and check how it goes. If needed, I can always return to 23H2, thank you.

Well, just made the update, initially Windows removes a driver for one of my controllers, but that's not too serious. Overall it's working fine so far, though I need to check its performance in games and other features.

I am preparing to modify my wife's machine.
First, I will update the motherboard bios, chipset driver, and other relevant drivers such as the wireless network driver. Next, I will install the Intel Management Engine to enable firmware updates for the CPU. (There are 6 CPU firmware updates pending).
I expect the installation to be possible today.
Please note: the new version introduces updated power management states that may affect older drivers like the Marvel wireless driver. I hope the refreshed driver functions correctly before proceeding with the system upgrade.

24H2 performs just like any other Windows 10/11 version; it receives sufficient updates to resolve compatibility problems, leaving behind only uncommon hardware or configurations that Microsoft may not always manage.
