I can boost my monitor to 75Hz for a bit more fluidity, but it doesn’t always match the desired performance. In tougher games I want 60Hz, yet the game menu doesn’t let me pick that setting. The refresh rate option seems missing, which is strange since Nvidia used to offer a preferred setting in the control panel. I don’t want to rely on Nvidia Inspector’s FPS limiter either—it doesn’t make the 60FPS feel smooth on a 75Hz display. This situation is definitely a challenge.

Yes, you can manually adjust the custom refresh rate before starting the game and revert it afterward.

There seems to be some issues with Nvidia Control Panel's monitor settings, making it slow to adjust the refresh rate and occasionally requiring a full PC restart. Perhaps attempting overclocking with EVGA Precision could help.

When dealing with these problems, it's best to rely on drivers and install the latest versions directly from GeForce Experience.

I ran DDU and updated the drivers, but it didn<|pad|>'s choice didn't resolve the issue. Adjusting the refresh rate via Nvidia control panel affected colors and contrast, requiring recalibration. I checked "Preferred refresh rate" in Nvidia Inspector but it didn't help. Despite downloading EVGA Precision and enabling vsync, I still managed 75 FPS in The Witcher 3. I'm considering overclocking with it, but EVGA Precision refused to proceed, so I'll settle for 60Hz.

It's disappointing, most of the time I only notice these 60Hz monitors slightly increasing frequency before the image distorts. For higher refresh rates, native support seems to be the solution.

You just purchased an MSI RX 480 Gaming X 8G card to support freesync. Your monitor's freesync range is 48-72, so you might want to adjust it to 35-75.
