After the latest update, my Windows 10 installation began writing large amounts of event data to the C:\Windows\Temp directory. I've shared a few files that appear very similar. A fresh batch of these three files appears roughly every three seconds. It seems this is some kind of automated update attempt (possibly a Windows Xbox overlay) that's malfunctioning and repeatedly trying to apply an incomplete update. I'm unsure how to stop it. This behavior is harmful to my SSD, causing constant writes at about 2.1MB/s as seen in Task Manager, and it's just bothersome. Thanks.

Halt the service via Task Scheduler as well. Have you experimented with SFC or DISM? The commands are: sfc /scannow dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth Both require running them from an admin command prompt.

DISM appears to have resolved the issue successfully. Appreciate it!

It took just five minutes to restart. The logging of information to the disk happens through the "Windows Event Log," which seems to capture only error messages from other applications. It’s unclear which task or service is generating these entries.
