I've looked through various sources and found limited guidance on customizing the login screen color directly via the registry. Changing the login screen to black would likely require editing the Windows Registry entries for the login window, which can be complex and risky. If you're open to alternatives, you could try using a desktop background image file or adjusting the lock screen image through settings. Let me know if you'd like help with those options.

Interesting observation, but it seems none of the recent contributions offered valuable insights. It’s surprising how often that happens here.

I'd have suggested checking Spiceworks... you can view it here: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1...d-image-gp This assumes Windows 10. For Windows 7, adjust the path to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background and set it accordingly. If needed, create a file named backgroundDefault.jpg in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds, ensuring it's under 256kb and simply use Paint to fill it with black.
