Update MSI Tomahawk B550 BIOS version
Hello everyone, I’m starting a new PC from scratch and it isn’t booting up. I have the motherboard you mentioned and paired it with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I’m considering updating the BIOS using the Flash BIOS button, but I’m unsure if it’s safe to leave my CPU and RAM in place during the process. Any advice would be appreciated!
Yes, you can keep RAM and CPU installed. Load the appropriate BIOS onto a USB drive formatted with FAT32, naming it MSI.ROM. Connect the USB to the BIOS flashback port while the PC is powered off but connected to electricity, then press the flash BIOS button until an LED begins blinking. If the LED starts blinking, the process is successful. If it remains on but doesn’t blink, the USB file wasn’t read correctly—retry. When the LED stops blinking, you’re finished.
