I just changed the BIOS on my MSI B350M gaming pro to a beta release that doesn’t work with my CPU. I’m wondering if it’s possible to revert the BIOS or find another version that supports my current setup. My system specs are: AMD A8 9600, AMD RX560, 4GB RAM, 16GB DDR4, 500GB SSD, M.2 SSD, and a Corsair vs450. Any suggestions would be helpful.

According to the information available, the MSI documentation does not specify which CPU model is removed from support. To boot the board, you may need a 3000 series processor, or you can obtain one from another source and downgrade it.

On the download page it mentions unsupported CPUs and notes that the cheapest 3000 series CPU in Australia is $350.

Yep, so your CPU is not supported. So you can't boot from it to downgrade the BIOS, there is nothing else you can do with that CPU and board currently. But you can always borrow a supported CPU from someone and downgrade it.

No, it doesn't automatically restore the BIOS to its original version. Clearing the CMOS resets the system but doesn't change the BIOS settings unless you specifically reconfigure them.

Sorry for the delayed response. I recently bought a Ryzen 5 2600 that is compatible with the BIOS. I’m concerned about potential issues since the motherboard didn’t restart after the BIOS was installed and displayed a black screen. Did the new CPU cause any damage to the board?

There’s little chance anything changed when using the wrong BIOS for the CPU. The signals seem directed correctly. Probably the BIOS isn’t recognizing the updated system and can’t start properly.
