My friends PC stopped working due to a short circuit. I checked all its parts and swapped out the faulty ones. I bought an ASRock H310 chipset motherboard with an Intel i5-9400 processor. The box said it’s compatible, but I couldn’t send it. It turns out the issue was the BIOS never getting updated before purchase. Since I don’t have funds for an 8th-gen CPU upgrade or a replacement, I’m either returning the board or looking for a free BIOS update tool that costs around $20 or a method to update without a new CPU. Please help me.

The top choice is to bring back the motherboard and check availability of a new one that works with 9th generation Intel CPUs right away.

Do you know if there are any motherboards that come with the 9th generation built-in, since I haven't found any yet? It seems I might need to visit a store to get an update or replacement.

Check for a store that provides this service and take it. Otherwise, it looks like most boards with the B365 chipset come with the 9th generation built-in.
