I recall when I was on the beta version. It was really bothersome with the frequent updates. The only issue with Steam updates is that they require you to log in to see them and then ask for a restart afterward. That’s super annoying, especially since the phone app verification was introduced. I’m aware this has been happening for a while, but it’s just becoming more irritating lately with updates coming up every few days. Anyone else feel the same way? I’d really like an update check before you need to log in!

You're noticing the update process, but it seems to require logging back in. That’s why you’re stuck if you’re not connected. I understand your point.

When you enable staying logged in, you won't have to re-enter the pin again...

I can't do that; I'll remember to forget my password soon. Avoiding the password recovery process is on my mind.

Setting Steam to remember your password can be convenient, but if you plan to reinstall Windows or Steam later, you'll need to re-enter the password. Since you don’t rely on a single password across all services, you might end up forgetting it and having to reset it again. Is that understandable?

But why not solve the problem by making the steam app check for update as soon as you launch the application instead of asking the user to log in and then ask him to restart the app and log in again ? I think battlenet updates before it fully launches (could be origin or uplay, I don't use them much but I know one of them does it right)
