Your Windows 10 PC just received an update, possibly the creator's patch. The system tray now displays a shield icon with a yellow warning. When you right-click, it opens a protection window labeled "Your Device Is Being Protected" with App and Browser Control showing a warning symbol. Clicking this reveals that the issue is the Smartscreen feature being disabled. You're looking for a way to remove this alert from the tray without losing important warnings. Thank you for your understanding.

This reminds me of something I've encountered before. I need to restart to apply the update. Since I also turned off Smartscreen, it might help me replicate the problem and assist further. In the meantime, opening Win+R and executing winver.exe will show the current version and build details. The creator's update is 1703, while the previous one (Anniversary Update) was 1607.

Task manager, start up, turn off the Windows maintenance feature (can't recall its name).

Check if the specified tool is correct. The command points to a cache maintenance utility, but it may not be the official Microsoft Defender tool. Disabling such tasks can impact malware protection and system performance. Confirm the right process before proceeding.
