I made the changes, but my audio keeps shifting unexpectedly. If it’s true that Windows 10 will be free for 8.1 users, I’ll be emotional—because it’s great! They mentioned upgrading from Windows 7 will cost around 30€ when Windows 10 launches. Will they activate the key for Windows 10 that I’m currently using?

I believe Windows 10 is arriving soon, and it's possible the Windows 8 shortcut we rely on might be adapted for Windows 10...

I won’t be upgrading because I already have everything I need, and I could face compatibility problems with older games I enjoy.

Your files will remain intact in their usual locations. A new windows.old folder will appear on your C: drive, so you should remove it using the cleanup tool—Windows will recognize it as unnecessary and delete it safely.

Windows 10 should work just like before, as much of it relies on Windows 8. Also, your avatar looks quite unique.
