I experienced an issue with version 1803 where my OS would repeatedly go back to the restore point during the final stages after a restart. Now that the update has been re-released, I’m still facing the same problem. Could this be related to the motherboard firmware? Or is the update still problematic overall? I’m using a 3570k on a Z77A-G45 board.

Have you ensured all drivers were refreshed before beginning the procedure (SATA controller, chipset controller, audio, graphics card, printer, keyboard, mouse, wireless, Ethernet adapter, etc.)? If you have additional antivirus software besides Windows Defender, remove it and restart before retrying. The same rule applies to any other security programs you use. Remember: If a registry cleaner or system adjustment tool was used at any point, it could be the reason updates fail. Even after removing malware, security software only clears the infection—it doesn’t repair altered system files; a fresh installation is needed to guarantee everything works correctly.

Connect all devices to your computer. Since 1803 didn’t install on my machine, I disconnected everything and checked that my keyboard was the issue.
