Update for MSI B450 Tomahawk Max BIOS version 7C02v3A2
Hey everyone, I updated the BIOS due to LAN adapter issues. Now I’m facing problems in the BIOS settings—SVM enable isn’t available in the OC advanced menu, even though I set “Expert” in the options. The “CPU Features” section is missing. As a heavy WSL2.0 user, this isn’t working without virtualization. Did I miss something or is there a bug in this BIOS version? Check the screenshots you shared for reference.
You're experiencing the same problem where your old Tomahawk (without MAX) stopped working two days ago. After installing the MAX, the CPU feature option was available but after updating your BIOS it disappeared. You rely on it frequently for your Win10 VM with GPU Passthrough. Someone might have a solution or workaround for this issue.
I encountered the same problem after updating to the latest BIOS, and I couldn't locate the option to enable CPU Features On Advanced BIOS to activate SVM. My motherboard is an MSI Mortar Max, and I attempted to downgrade my BIOS to version 7B89v28, which now displays CPU features, but I'm hoping the upcoming updates might resolve this issue.
Hi, same issue with MSI B550 Tomahawk. I replaced the temporary Ryzen 3 3100 with a new Ryzen 7 5800X using the same BIOS 7C91vA4. Both CPUs are now active, but the "CPU Specifications" field is missing. I was running VMware Virtual Windows 7 and it stopped working because virtualization is disabled by default. I thought a newer 7C91vA5 BIOS might help, but flashing didn’t resolve the problem. It’s frustrating—on 4 cores I could run a VM with two logical CPUs, but on 8 cores it won’t even start. Any updates or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The SVM setting is now placed under "advanced CPU configuration," positioned closer to the top of the options menu.
Thanks a lot... I'm a bit embarrassed since I've seen this video multiple times... It's working now! I had to remove VMware Player 15 and set up version 16, probably because of the lack of support for the last ZEN3 CPUs. Version 15 was fine with ZEN2, but it's functioning properly now!
