Hello! I don't have enough funds for a new motherboard or CPU like the Ryzen 5000. I still have my old Gygabyte B450 DS3H v2, and I plan to keep it. My previous CPU is in poor condition, so I need to replace it. My question is: If I swap my first-gen Ryzen CPU for a Ryzen 5000, will the BIOS support the Ryzen 5000? Also, if I use my old CPU to update the BIOS, can the PC run both Ryzen 1000 and Ryzen 5000?

The board seems to keep allowing BIOS updates for any CPUs, so no issues there. On the boards that cut CPU support for Ryzen 5000, they also drop support for older Athlon models, not just the R5 1600.
