Upcoming update for Battlefield 5 in beta testing phase.
I chose to try the Battlefield 5 beta today. After about half an hour, I quit and removed the app. I’m unsure what the game is about, but its movement and aiming didn’t feel correct. I faced the same issue with Battlefield 1. Comparing the last game I played, it was pretty disappointing—I’d say I wasn’t doing well. In general, most games start to feel off after around ten minutes, and while I can keep up, the experience still didn’t match what I expected. Chronologically, DICE released Battlefield 4 first, followed by Battlefield 1, then Battlefield 2. What I’m wondering is whether there was a change in the engine design or something else entirely—no clear reason, just that it didn’t feel right. I had similar feelings with COD Ghosts; the game didn’t meet my expectations quickly either. What are your thoughts? Do you share this experience?
The game actually performs quite well, especially visually compared to other titles in the series. It requires some improvements in optimization. On my GTX 1080 it runs poorly with DX12, but DX11 works better. Adjusting the settings made a noticeable difference.
agree it’s the most visually appealing version in the series, though on a 240hz display I still struggle to spot other players due to the heavy effects displayed simultaneously. as the original poster mentioned, something just doesn’t feel natural. i appreciate the realism movement mechanics, but they seem slow or unrefined. on my end, performance is solid, but i’m using Windows 10 1607 instead of the latest version. this game would mainly appeal to me for its single-player mode, especially in terms of graphics, though overall it stands out more for visuals than any other feature.
