Hello - new user, first time here. I’m trying to set up a new system with the specs you shared [details in the post]. I’ve noticed some lag when playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk, especially at close range. Previously, with a 1080ti and an i7-8th generation processor, this wasn’t an issue. The graphics are great, but there’s a noticeable delay in movement and loading. I thought it was just the game mods or settings, but now I’m wondering if the hardware is struggling with the distance and detail levels. Have you seen anything similar? Any tips to improve performance or fix this problem?

Place the games on the OS drive and check for any changes. It seems your setup might be expecting higher render distances than necessary, which could be causing unexpected performance issues.

Thanks for the input! Adjusting the game location doesn't seem to make a difference. It might be a bottleneck or another factor at play, like starting to track usage with various tools. From what I've seen around the area, playing at 1440p shouldn't significantly affect graphics performance—maybe only a slight drop in FPS, not much asset load trouble. Here are a couple of examples: Horizon intro cut-scene and RDR2 video clips. Example 1 Example 2

It seems like you didn't encounter any issues with those, so it's probably just a minor concern.

Do you have the GPU available? If yes, remove the existing NVIDIA video app first, then set up the 1080Ti version.

It seems to be a QLC drive, so get ready for data reduction
