AMD 5800X (custom cooling) Asus X570 Crosshair VIII Dark Hero 32GB DDR4 3200 Trident RTX 3070 2x M.2 (970 EVO 980 PRO) 2x HDD (2TB/4TB) O-11 Dynamic Razer Edition G-skill 850W PSU 80+ Gold A few months ago I attempted to power on the system and the BIOS displayed a warning: "USB over current detected. System will shut down in 15 seconds." I tried fixing it by updating the BIOS and disconnecting all cables except the 24-pin and power connections for CPU and GPU, but the message persisted. After swapping the motherboard, everything worked temporarily for daily use. Recently, the same issue reappeared. I changed the PSU and reconnected everything, yet the warning continued. Now I have two Dark Hero boards with this problem. I suspect a major hardware failure—possibly needing a full rebuild. It’s frustrating because I’m not sure if my current setup will still fit after replacement. Any idea how to diagnose without risking further damage? This is expensive and it seems like a last resort, but I don’t want to waste more money on something that might not work.
